Synopsis

Oguna, the youngest prince of Yamato, is sent by his father to assassinate Takeru Kawakami, leader of the rival Kumaso clan. When he arrives in enemy territory, a young hunter named Kajika accidentally shoots him with a stray arrow. Guilt-ridden, she brings him to her village to heal his wound—and the two quickly fall in love. Then comes the twist: Kajika is Takeru's sister. Now Oguna's torn between his feelings for her and his duty to his father. He turns to the Phoenix, a legendary immortal bird and guardian spirit of Kumaso, for guidance. The choice ahead is impossible: betray his own family for love, or kill the brother of the woman he's come to care for? Drawing from the classic Yamato Takeru legend, this story explores how love and hate collide when two people from warring sides find each other—and whether that love can survive the weight of duty and war.
