Synopsis

Satoru Mikami is a 37-year-old office worker living a pretty standard life in Tokyo—stable job, zero romantic prospects, nothing to complain about really. One day he gets stabbed by a random stranger on the street, and as he's dying, he hears a weird voice in his head listing off commands he doesn't understand. Then everything goes black. He wakes up as slime. Actual slime. In some other world. On the bright side, his new form comes with serious perks—he can consume anything and copy what it looks like or what it can do. While exploring, he finds a dragon named Veldora sealed away underground. This thing is a walking apocalypse that leveled entire cities three centuries ago, and it's been stuck in that seal ever since. Rimuru (as Satoru now calls himself after Veldora names him) decides to help break it free, and in exchange, Veldora gives him divine protection under that new name. With his old life firmly behind him and a clear mission ahead, Rimuru sets out into this new world. As he learns to work with his strange slime body, his actions start changing the world around him in unexpected ways.
