Synopsis

Pop Team Epic is basically absurdist comedy cranked to maximum volume. You've got Popuko, a short girl with a hair-trigger temper, and Pipimi, her tall, perpetually chill best friend. Together they just throw every genre imaginable at the screen—parodies, dramatic moments, action sequences, crude humor, whatever—without bothering to make any of it coherent. The whole thing's basically one long joke about wanting to become a "real" anime, which is hilarious because it already kind of is one, just not in the way they want.
