The stars seem impossibly distant and eternal, existing in an order that earthbound creatures can't really reach—it'd take some seriously exceptional transformation to go from being a regular creature to becoming a shining star. But this particular nighthawk was different. Despite being bullied and mistreated by other birds, it managed to turn all that hardship into raw power. Eventually it flew up to heaven and became the Nighthawk Star. A short film by Ryu Kato based on one of Kenji Miyazawa's classic fairy tales, made to celebrate over 80 years of his stories.
