Gin Ishida is Tetsu's older brother and pretty much the opposite personality-wise—he's all business, stern, and unflinchingly honorable. He's known for inventing the Hadokyu, a devastating shot built from 108 techniques that get progressively stronger, and he can actually shut down other players' attempts to use it against him. Before his wrist injury sidelined him, Gin was considered Japan's top power player. That injury came during his Nationals match against Takashi Kawamura and basically derailed what looked like an unstoppable run. Creator Takeshi Konomi has mentioned he's one of his favorite characters from Shitenhouji.
