Manji is the protagonist of the manga Blade of the Immortal. He's got a notorious reputation—the "Hundred Man Killer" for the sheer body count he'd racked up before the series even started, and "Mister Twelve Blades" because he fights with that many weapons at once. You can spot him instantly by the manji symbol tattooed on his back (where his name comes from) and the web of scars crisscrossing his face.
