Manabe is a doctor and Tamahiko's uncle. He's the youngest of seven siblings—his oldest brother is Tamahiko's father. Not much is known about his early life, but according to Tamahiko's father, Manabe took his wife's surname and left to start fresh at a different house. His original family name was Shima before he adopted Manabe.
