Sergeant Murasaki (called Sergeant Purple in the Viz translation) is smart enough, but he's no match for Goku. Their fight is long and pretty ridiculous, with Murasaki pulling out ninja techniques left and right—only for Goku to counter each one with his own brand of weirdness. Things get stranger when Murasaki reveals he's actually got four identical brothers; the five of them together still can't take Goku down.
After losing, Murasaki tries to force Android 8 to fight Goku, threatening to destroy the android if it won't comply. Android 8 refuses to budge, so Goku just knocks Murasaki out before he can follow through.
In an anime-only scene, Murasaki later pursues Dr. Frappe and Android 8. He's presumably killed when Goku accidentally tosses one of Android 8's bombs directly onto Murasaki's face.
