Komaba Ritoku is a side character in Toaru Majutsu no Index and the first leader of Skill Out we see, appearing in the SS volumes. He's best friends with Hamazura Shiage and Hattori Hanzou, and has a younger sister who's still in primary school.
Physically, Komaba's got a gorilla-like appearance—he's big, heavyset, and usually wears dark clothes like leather jackets and pants. But despite looking intimidating, he's genuinely a good person who cares deeply about his friends and the people under him.
What sets Komaba apart is that he's a true Level 0 with no esper abilities at all. Instead, he relies on tactics and technology to fight. As Skill Out's leader, he earned real respect from his members and had actual principles—he flat-out forbade his gang from getting involved in prostitution, something even other factions like Musujime Awaki pointed out would've been the easiest way to make money. Unlike groups like Big Spider that just prey on espers indiscriminately, Komaba was selective: Skill Out only targeted people actively abusing their powers against other Level 0s. That kind of code mattered to him.
