Kaito's a high school freshman obsessed with puzzles—almost to a fault. His parents were killed solving a deadly one, which is why he gets genuinely upset when puzzles are weaponized or used to hurt people. He goes by the solver title "Einstein," which fits his reputation.
Everything changed when he found the Orpheus bangle. The thing basically fused to his arm, and now whenever he's under serious stress, he enters this weird mental state where his brain kicks into overdrive. In that zone, he can see through basically any puzzle, no matter how complex. It's his superpower, and he relies on it constantly.
Outside of puzzles, Kaito doesn't really have much going on. He's the type to tear apart school desks if it helps him solve something faster, which obviously doesn't fly with his friend Nonoha. She's constantly calling him out for slacking and destroying stuff, and she's not gentle about it—she'll straight-up hit him when he's being ridiculous. Despite whatever's actually between them (it's unclear), Kaito clearly cares about her safety and goes out of his way to protect her, even hiding the truth about one of her friends, Madoka, being a P.O.G. Giver.
One running joke: Kaito absolutely roasts Nonoha's cooking. He's called her homemade sweets "weapons of mass destruction," which earns him some brutal physical punishment. As far as anyone knows, he's the only person willing to admit out loud that her cooking is terrible.
