Fukunaga is a trans woman who enters the tournament in Round II posing as Hitomi Miyahara—actually standing in for her friend Hitomi, who she substitutes for as player No. 3. She's a fifth-degree black belt and shrewd operator who thrives on manipulation, though her appetite for money and quick temper consistently undermine her plans. During the early rounds, she becomes a real thorn in Nao and Akiyama's side, particularly in Round II and the Revival Round, yet she never quite manages to get the better of Akiyama no matter how hard she tries.
By Round III, her relationship with the group shifts noticeably—she actually works with them effectively and doesn't even drop out when she clears her debt, instead choosing to stick around. In Revival Round II, she pulls the same disguise trick, donning a long blonde wig again. Rather than risk exposing her abilities during the mock simulation, she sends Nao in her place instead, banking on Solario's existing expectations.
There's something almost affectionate about how she treats Nao, even if she doesn't really respect her competence.
