Gantz Character

A designer by trade, he was one of the ordinary people gunned down during the Shinjuku massacre. Unlike most of the group, he refused to train under Kurono's leadership, doubting whether Kurono deserved to lead—a stance that put him firmly on Izumi's side during the failed mission to assassinate Tae.
He's a natural coward in combat situations, though he tries hard to play it cool when things get heated. For a while, his skepticism of Kurono seemed justified, but he gradually came to realize that survival under Kurono's guidance was his best bet. By the end of the Oni mission, he'd flipped entirely, finally giving Kurono his backing and acknowledging that he might actually be cut out for leadership.
His attraction to Reika runs throughout the series—he's hinted at it more than once, and at one point he confessed his feelings to what he thought was Reika, only to sleep with an Oni Alien instead.
Even after Kurono's death, he continues fighting alongside the rest of the Gantz team against the alien threats.
