Thatch
Thatch served as commander of the 4th Division under Whitebeard. He's best known for discovering the Yami Yami no Mi—a Devil Fruit that turned out to be far more significant than anyone realized at the time.
That discovery became his undoing. Blackbeard had actually joined the Whitebeard Pirates specifically hunting for this fruit, and when Thatch found it first, Blackbeard killed him and disappeared with his prize. It was a pivotal moment that set off a chain of events reshaping the entire story.
