Ash is the series' protagonist and the illegitimate son of a Corsican Mafia boss. He has a half-brother named Griffin (who he calls Griff) from their father's first marriage. At eight years old, Ash bolted from his home in Cape Cod to escape social pressure and ended up under the wing of Papa Dino, the Mafia's leader. Since then, Dino's been grooming him to take over—and as a stepping stone, handed him control of Manhattan's biggest street gang. The whole manga basically revolves around Ash fighting like hell to stay out of that life.
Physically, he's striking: shaggy platinum blond hair, pale green eyes, lean build. Characters in the series can't shut up about how beautiful he is. His actual personality, though? A lot rougher around the edges. He's sarcastic, reckless, and disturbingly good at killing people without hesitation—which means he's made plenty of enemies. But he's also intelligent and unnervingly charismatic, which has landed him a network of connections he's quick to use to his advantage.
As for skills: solid marksman, can hack 80's computers, and he's weirdly good at sensing when someone's tailing him. Never finished high school, but he reads constantly and taught himself advanced math. When he bothers to turn on the charm, he can come off as genuinely cultured.
