Origami is one of the main heroines in Date A Live and the star of its spin-offs, Date AST Like and Date A Origami. She's the ace wizard of the Anti-Spirit Team—and also a high school student who somehow maintains top grades and athletic prowess while nobody at school knows what she actually does.
Her combat skills are genuinely impressive. She was the first to fight a Spirit in close quarters and can handle the CR-Unit White Licorice, a notoriously dangerous weapon that no one else has managed to use effectively. She's even landed hits on Ellen, the world's strongest wizard, which Ellen herself acknowledged as noteworthy. That said, Origami can get emotionally reckless in combat; her methods are extreme, and she doesn't always think twice about collateral damage.
The thing everyone knows about Origami, though, is her obsession with Shidou Itsuka. She stalks him relentlessly, has done so since before the series started, and regularly tries to seduce him or engineer situations to get closer to him. She considers herself his girlfriend without his input or agreement—and if anything, she's intensified her efforts. Shidou, for his part, has shown zero interest in reciprocating.
What's complicated is that her feelings for him actually matter. She's stolen equipment from her own organization and fought against them to protect him. But she doesn't let his emotions factor into her actions. When it comes to eliminating Spirits, she's kept him away from the fighting but made no effort to spare his feelings about what she's doing. The most telling example is Kotori—Shidou's sister. Origami was willing to kill her until Shidou convinced her otherwise about who actually caused his parents' deaths. That single conversation changed everything; without it, she would've killed Kotori without hesitation.
Socially, she's quiet and unsocial by nature—not shy, just reserved. The exceptions are Shidou and Tooka Yatogami. Her dynamic with Tooka is antagonistic; Origami sees her as a love rival, an annoyance, and an enemy, even though Tooka's powers are sealed. She doesn't trust Spirits, but she's not actively hostile toward Tooka specifically.
Physically, Origami has short silvery-white hair in a bob with three clips on the left side, and blue eyes. At school, she looks like any other student. In her AST combat suit, though, it's a different story—armored from shoulders to hands and covering parts of her body and legs, with sensors in her hair and a semi-transparent design that doesn't leave much to the imagination.
