Aki's been all over the place depending on which Cutie Honey story you're looking at. In the original manga, she's pretty straightforward—just Honey's friend and roommate at their all-girls school.
Fast forward to Re: Cutie Honey and she's basically a completely different character. She's now a lead investigator for the National Police Security Task Force's Branch 9, and she takes herself seriously. Cold, controlling, perfectionist about everything—the kind of cop who's genuinely exceptional at her job but also has this habit of diving headfirst into situations way over her head. She's a crack shot and dresses almost exclusively in black, living alone in a small apartment with a serious passion for Japanese sake. Drunk Aki apparently becomes a karaoke enthusiast, which is probably the most fun version of her.
Interestingly, she downplays her looks by wearing non-prescription glasses, which is a detail fans often note when discussing her character design.
