Iwao is Ryo's father and the current master of the Hazuki Style. He's the kind of guy who lives by his principles—he values honesty, good manners, and trust above almost everything else. Pretty calm and straightforward, the type who embodies both simplicity and courage without making a big deal about it.
His main passion outside martial arts is calligraphy, which he uses whenever he's writing letters or postcards. As a teacher, he's notoriously strict and refuses to let students coast on raw talent alone. He's maintained an intense training routine his entire adult life, and back in his younger days, he traveled overseas to study under various martial arts masters.
Ryo pushes back against his father's strictness from time to time, but he clearly respects him as a mentor and wants to become like him eventually.
