Bridget grew up as one of twin sons born to an absurdly wealthy couple who spared no expense on education and training. But here's the thing—they didn't raise Bridget as a son. Instead, Bridget was brought up like the daughter of a high-society family, and there was a deeply rooted reason for it.
The hometown had this superstition that male twins were bad luck. Seriously bad luck. The locals were so committed to this belief that they expected the younger twin to either die or get exiled immediately after birth. Bridget's parents couldn't stomach either option, so they made the unconventional choice to raise Bridget as a girl instead.
It's hard to say whether Bridget really bought into the act or was just trying to keep things together at home, but either way, the effort seemed to hurt the parents more than help. Eventually, Bridget decided that the best move was to act like a man and bring in serious money—proof that the superstition was complete nonsense. A career in bounty hunting followed. While Bridget never managed to capture Dizzy despite the bounty, the work itself paid off handsomely, and the wealth was enough to finally kill the village superstition once and for all.
With that goal accomplished, though, Bridget was left adrift. These days, Bridget still works as a bounty hunter, mostly just trying to figure out what comes next.
