His history with Ritsu is complicated. They dated briefly in high school but broke up over a misunderstanding—one of those situations where both people thought the other was in the wrong. The split hit him harder than anyone knew. Between that breakup, family stuff falling apart, and everything else piling on, he ended up spiraling a bit, and his feelings for Ritsu never really went away. They just festered into something unresolved.
When he and Ritsu eventually realize who each other are—recognition hitting after all those years—Isaka promises Ritsu he'll make him fall in love with him again. Ritsu, predictably, is not thrilled about this.
