Mei is Youhei's younger sister, and she genuinely cares about him despite living out in the countryside. She's bright and curious—the kind of person who's always interested in what's new or happening around her. She's also got a crush on Yusuke Yoshino, a former graduate from Tomoya's school who plays in a band.
When Mei gets worried about how her brother's doing, she tries calling him. Instead, she gets Tomoya on the line pretending to be Youhei, who convinces her to come visit. It's a pretty good indicator of what she's like: gullible enough to fall for it, but caring enough to drop everything when she thinks something's wrong.
Personality-wise, Mei's basically the complete opposite of her brother. While Youhei's laid-back, she's nosy in the best and worst ways—constantly poking into everyone's business, whether that's trying to play matchmaker between Tomoya and Nagisa or straight-up investigating what's going on with Youhei. She means well, though her meddling doesn't always land how she expects.
