Martin (voiced by Chika Sakamoto in Japanese and Cindy Robinson in English) was one of several boys Johan introduced to his twisted "special game"—a deadly dare where two children would stand blindfolded on a building's edge and walk toward each other, with the "winner" being whoever pushed the other off and survived. After Martin failed to stay balanced on a rooftop, he ended up hospitalized with serious injuries. Dr. Reichwein visited regularly, though he found himself spending more time consoling Martin's distraught mother than actually treating the boy.
When Dieter snuck into his hospital room, the two escaped together. During their walk, Martin explained that nothing in the world interested him anymore except the "game" itself. Desperate to make Dieter understand, he dragged him up to a rooftop and tried to force him to play a round.
