Synopsis

Kenzou Tenma, a talented Japanese neurosurgeon working in post-war Germany, has to make an impossible choice: save Johan Liebert, a dying orphan boy, or operate on the mayor of Düsseldorf. He chooses Johan, betting everything on the kid's life—and leaves the mayor to die. The fallout is brutal. The hospital director fires him, his fiancée Eva leaves him, and his colleagues turn their backs. His career is basically over. Then the director mysteriously dies, and suddenly Tenma gets a second chance. Fast forward nine years. Tenma's now running the surgical department and about to become director. Everything's finally coming together—until he gets pulled into a series of horrific murders spreading across Germany. The killer? The same boy he saved all those years ago. Except Johan Liebert has become something else entirely. A monster.
