Johan
In the early '90s, Johan moved to Bruntal and set up house with a couple named Liebert—a different family from an earlier one by the same name. The Lieberts had lost their infant son, also named Johan, years before. When a fire conveniently destroyed the town's birth certificate records, Johan seized the opportunity to assume the dead child's identity, giving himself a clean legal past and a ready-made family cover.
He bought the couple a house in Offenbach, Hessen, but rarely stayed there himself. The arrangement was purely transactional: they served as proof of a normal life and family history whenever he needed it.
Julius Reichwein showed up at their door one day to warn them straight—get away from Johan, he told them, or face terrible consequences. The Lieberts didn't believe him or didn't care to listen. They stayed put, and nothing changed.
