Raidō is just a regular high school guy with one pretty specific goal: make 100 friends before graduation. When he sits next to Aharen on his first day, though, he immediately senses there's something off between them—a gap he can't quite explain.
Physically, he's tall with sharp features, short black hair, and brown eyes. He's almost always in standard school uniform. The thing about Raidō that stands out to everyone else is his face—it barely moves. He could be thrilled, devastated, or completely shocked, and you'd never know it just by looking at him. This has made him seem distant to people, which is probably why he wanted to turn high school into something more social in the first place.
Despite the stone-faced exterior, he's genuinely friendly once you get past the initial barrier. His whole dynamic with Reina shows this best—they start off awkward and confused around each other, but eventually he's comfortable doing everything with her: sports, studying, dancing, board games, whatever. He wins over her childhood friend Mitsuki too (who initially thought he was some creep), and ends up building a solid friend group that includes Ishikawa, Hanako, and Riku.
What's funny is how his mind actually works in private. When something doesn't make sense to him—especially Reina's weird behavior—his imagination just spirals. He'll construct these increasingly ridiculous explanations for what he's seeing, sometimes bordering on completely illogical. He even acts on these delusions until reality hits and he realizes how absurd he was being. He knows he does this and considers it kind of a problem, but he's convinced himself it's a way to stay prepared for anything.
When it comes to actually doing things, he doesn't hesitate. He's direct about his feelings and quick to act on them. That first moment when Reina pulled away after spending time with him? He just pushed his desk over to hers. Done. He's equally bold about bigger stuff—like when Mitsuki challenged him to reversi with the stakes being his friendship with Reina, he fought through his initial fear and crushed her just to keep Reina around. Once they're actually together, he's completely casual about complimenting her or showing affection, which tends to embarrass her more than anything.
