A powerful youkai who showed up to save both Natsume and Natori when they completely botched an exorcism against Sumie. He stepped in basically as payback—earlier on, Natsume had actually helped some of his servants get across a puddle in the road, and this youkai doesn't forget a good deed. It's a pretty straightforward example of how Natsume's kindness tends to come back around.
