Marco commands the first division of the Whitebeard Pirates and ranks among the crew's top four fighters—second only to Whitebeard himself. He's built a reputation as one of the most capable combatants in the series, partly thanks to his incredible reflexes and raw power. He can respond instantly to Kizaru's light-speed attacks and even managed to touch the normally intangible admiral, a feat that hints at his mastery of Haki. He's also shown the ability to stay conscious under Shanks' overwhelming Haki, which is no small feat.
Marco ate a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit—rarer than any Logia type—that transforms him into a blue phoenix.
