Set works as a high judge—essentially the second-in-command when it comes to law and order in the palace, answering only to Leonhart himself. He's the one who decides guilt and passes sentence on anyone who breaks the law within palace walls.
He first met Saraphi when two hired bandits managed to slip past security and attempt to kill Bennu, Saraphi's sacred phoenix. It was a serious breach, and Set's involvement in handling the fallout is what brought the two of them together.
