He ended up in Cant, where he fell in with a bandit crew and pulled off a daring theft—stealing a dragon egg from its nest. The egg became his leverage. By holding it hostage, he forced the dragon into submission and used the creature to seize control of the entire region. Once the egg hatched, Edlin swapped it out for a magical replica he'd created, keeping his hold on power intact.
