Nosferatu Zodd
Also known as Zodd the Immortal or Nosferatu Zodd, this centuries-old apostle is basically a living legend in search of the next great fight. He's obsessed with battle and worthy opponents—it's pretty much his whole thing.
Zodd can shift between a mostly human form and something far more intimidating: a massive creature with a minotaur's body, a tiger's face and tail, and a pair of bat wings he can pull in or extend whenever he wants. It's a genuinely unsettling look.
He first ran into Guts and Griffith during a castle raid and actually beat them both, which says something about how strong he was at the time. The interesting part is that he chose to let them live—something about recognizing Griffith's crimson behelit and sensing Guts was destined for something bigger made him decide they were worth sparing.
Over time, Guts became a legitimate rival as he got stronger and more skilled. Zodd also has a long-standing beef with Skull Knight that's never really been settled. Fans often note that watching Zodd's respect for Guts grow as the latter improved is one of the better character dynamics in the series.
