The Chairman of the Hunters Association and the person who literally runs the Hunter Exam. He's got enough clout to hand out licenses as he sees fit, and enough raw power to casually deflect attacks from the series' main characters without breaking a sweat. Every examiner—no matter how ruthless—falls in line when he gives an order.
Netero was apparently the world's strongest Nen user half a century ago, though he's quick to point out he's well past his peak now. He figures his subordinates have probably surpassed him by this point, though they tend to disagree. What's wild is he's older than Zeno Zoldyck (Killua's grandfather), who's 67. Zeno has actually said that when he was a kid, Netero was already ancient, and he's the only living person who ever fought Zeno's grandfather Maha. All evidence points to Netero being well over a hundred years old.
His signature technique is called the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva, a Nen ability that lets him throw attacks faster than the speed of sound—so fast they seem to come from nowhere, like they're phasing in from another dimension. He can deploy this power from multiple angles simultaneously, with variations like his First Hand, Third Hand, Ninety-ninth Hand, and Zero Hand techniques.
