Gamariki first met Naruto during his training under Jiraiya. The toad was summoned to help Naruto learn genjutsu defense—specifically by trapping him in illusions using his signature Genjutsu Kiss. Things went south when Naruto accidentally hit him with a Rasengan-like blast of chakra while trying to break free, sending Gamariki flying into a canal. Unsurprisingly, the two have disliked each other ever since.
He's known for being incredibly theatrical, constantly making dramatic gestures and expressions. In the Japanese version, he tends to use the "-chan" honorific liberally, giving him an oddly cute vibe despite his size. That said, when things get serious, his normally high-pitched voice drops into a deep, gruff tone that suggests he's got a more reserved side underneath all the flamboyance.
As far as combat goes, Gamariki is a solid fighter. His Whip of Love can restrain or knock out opponents, and he's skilled with Water Release jutsu like Water Gun—moves he can coordinate with a summoner for extra damage. His real specialty, though, is genjutsu. He can trap targets in hallucinations just by kissing them, which admittedly works better as a strategy than you'd think.
