Komugi is a blind prodigy from East Gorteau who dominates the board game Gungi—and she's basically the only opponent who can give Meruem, the Chimera Ant King, a real challenge. She shows up during the Chimera Ant arc and becomes Meruem's regular gaming partner, which is weird considering he's a terrifying insect dictator and she's human. Fans have definitely noticed the romantic tension brewing between them, even if Meruem himself seems confused by whatever he's feeling.
She came from a large family of twelve and initially played Gungi as her country's representative, though it wasn't exactly lucrative work. When she went pro, she made a pretty dark commitment to herself: lose and she'd end her own life. That's the level of dedication we're talking about.
What's remarkable is that Komugi is naturally gifted with Nen—she can use it without any training whatsoever, which almost never happens. The catch is her abilities are laser-focused on Gungi and pretty much nowhere else, so her genius doesn't translate to combat or anything beyond the board.
