Shizuki's father was a major wine collector—like, one of the best in the world. His collection was reportedly worth around 2 billion yen. He died of pancreatic cancer at 67, before the main story kicks off, but not before leaving behind a will that set off the whole "Drops of God" competition. The will's real purpose was to guide his two heirs, Shizuku and Issei, through a series of challenges.
