Laxus is one of Fairy Tail's most powerful mages and the guild master's grandson—though his relationship with Makarov has been complicated. His father, Ivan, made the fateful decision to implant a Lightning Dragon Lacrima into him as a kid, which shaped everything about his magical abilities.
His power centers on lightning and electricity manipulation. He can generate bolts from his body or conjure them seemingly out of nowhere to catch opponents off guard. By channeling electricity through different limbs, he hits harder in close combat and uses the energy to launch himself around for added force and speed. The blinding flash of his attacks works as a tactical advantage too. Like other elemental mages, Laxus can transform his body into pure lightning—handy for dodging attacks and moving faster than the eye can follow.
The Dragon Slayer half of his toolkit is where things get really serious. He can harden his skin into dragon scales and pull off devastating signature moves like Lightning Dragon's Roar, giving him abilities beyond what a regular lightning mage could manage.
One odd detail: his eye color isn't consistent across versions. The manga shows orange or dark yellow eyes, while the anime went with a greenish-blue instead.
