Akane Shinjou is the school's most popular girl and a genuine Kaiju enthusiast. She goes to school with Yuta Hibiki, Rikka Takarada, and Shou Utsumi, and makes a point of being friendly with Yuta in particular—talking to him when he's alone, sharing food with him. She and Rikka used to be close friends, but they've drifted apart over time.
The reality of Akane's life is far darker than her popular girl image suggests. Years ago, she encountered an alien named Alexis Kerib who offered her the power to reshape the world however she wanted. She accepted, and the two became partners. Alexis digitized himself into Akane's computer, giving her the tools to act on her ambitions.
Akane's obsession with Kaiju found a practical outlet: she began sculpting them, and Alexis used his ability called "Instance Abreaction" to bring them to life. With her creations, she systematized her control over the world—eliminating people she disliked with her Kaiju, then deploying special "Mist Kaiju" to erase or rewrite everyone's memories of them. It was as if these people had never existed at all.
This caught the attention of Hyper Agent Gridman, who emerged from the Hyper World specifically to dismantle Akane's reign. Gridman recognized that Alexis wasn't just helping Akane—he was using her as a means to control the world himself.
