Kotaro
A remarkably independent 4-5 year old with the mindset of a full-grown adult, Kotaro moves into a rundown apartment building where he becomes neighbors with manga artist Shin Karino. He enrolls himself at Shimizu Kindergarten in the Star Class, though his emotional maturity sets him apart from the other kids his age.
Kotaro's pretty much obsessed with the cartoon Tonosaman, which fuels his samurai obsession. He's rarely seen without his plastic toy sword strapped to his hip, and he carries himself like a warrior—which honestly tracks with how seriously he takes everything else in life. Despite his age, he's the type of kid who takes care of himself and doesn't really need babying, which definitely makes him stand out among his kindergarten peers.
