Zommari Leroux is a tall, dark-skinned arrancar with a calm, reserved demeanor—he barely spoke until his fight with Byakuya forced him out of that shell. His appearance is distinctly marked: triangular tattoos dot his chin, and his hollow mask remnants consist of a row of bony spikes across his head, skull-shaped earrings, and a bone necklace.
He first shows up right after Aaroniero's death, ready to finish off Rukia as revenge. Byakuya steps in before he can, and things escalate quickly. Zommari releases his zanpakutō and manages to puppet Rukia's body against Byakuya—a solid move, but Byakuya wasn't having it. His bankai overwhelmed Zommari completely, and facing defeat, Zommari breaks down begging for his life before his desperation turns to anger. He goes off on a rant about shinigami arrogance, claiming they have no right to hunt and execute hollows just because they've labeled them evil. Byakuya's response is ice cold: he doesn't care about Zommari's philosophy. Zommari attacked Rukia, and that was enough. A single strike ends it, with Zommari dying while praising Aizen.
Combat abilities:
Zommari's sonído is frankly absurd—he claims it's the fastest among all the Espada, leaving up to five afterimages in his wake. It's called Gemelos Sonído (Twins Sound), and it's exactly as practical as it sounds.
His zanpakutō, Brujería (Witchcraft), looks like a standard katana except for the thick, spike-rimmed guard. Released with the command "suppress," it transforms him into something out of a nightmare: his body becomes covered in fifty open eyes, and his legs fuse into a pumpkin-like mass surrounded by cycloptic faces. Each eye grants him control over one target through a power he calls amor (Love)—marked by a sun-shaped glyph and the dilation of the activated eye. He can puppet individual limbs or seize an opponent's entire body by targeting the head. The form also doubles as defense; the lower half can fold into a complete sphere to shield his upper body. That sphere was tough enough to barely survive Byakuya's bankai attack, though it cost him a lot of his eyes in the process.
