Hirokazu Ukita is known for being the most emotional member of L's investigation team. When Misa Amane arranges for Kira's message to air on Sakura TV, Ukita acts on impulse—rushing to the station on his own to stop the broadcast before anyone else even thinks to intervene. It's a fatal mistake. Since Misa possesses the Shinigami Eyes, she kills him the moment he reaches the door, just as he's about to open fire.
In the anime, Ukita is voiced by Hidenobu Kiuchi in Japanese and Jeremy From in English. The live-action film takes a different approach: Ikuji Nakamura plays him as a noticeably older character, and notably, Ukita survives the story in that version.
