Peyote (called Ramiro in the English anime) is a Mexican shaman who shows up around Chapter 115. He's best known for wielding a crew of mariachi spirits—Carlos, Juan, Antonio, Jose, Pancho, Miguel, and Zapata—which he merges with Mexican skeleton puppets, a traditional symbol of death in his culture. His signature move involves possessing BoZ through Carlos and Juan.
His track record in fights is surprisingly solid. Ren defeats him once early on, but Peyote comes back and actually manages to kill Ren in their next encounter. Later, he becomes disillusioned with Hao's cause, turns against him, and takes out several of Hao's other followers before taking his own life. What's notable is that he and Turbine were the only two of Hao's men who couldn't be brought back after they died—their bodies were too damaged for revival to work.
One quirk fans often note: Peyote constantly says "Eres correcto" (roughly "You are correct") whenever someone makes a valid point. It's not quite grammatically perfect Spanish, but it's become his thing.
His spirits come from people he knew. Carlos and Juan were friends gunned down in a saloon brawl, while Antonio, Jose, Pancho, Miguel, and Zapata—all mariachi musicians—died in various fights.
