Aoga was a Shinigami Academy student who eventually became a sempai to Momo Hinamori, Renji Abarai, and Izuru Kira. He died during a training mission in the material world when a hollow killed him—he'd been trying to avenge Kanisawa's death at the time. The mission was led by Aoga himself along with Shūhei Hisagi and Kanisawa.
