Gerard is Hughes' son, still in his twenties. He's sharp with numbers and handles logistics for the Silver Meteor Army—essentially making sure supplies, food, and weapons get where they need to go. Unlike his father, Gerard has a sarcastic streak and clashes with Rurick pretty regularly. He doesn't blindly follow anyone, including Tigre; he constantly pushes back to figure out if the guy's actually worth backing, even knowing Hughes will come down hard on him for it.
After the Civil War ends, Gerard lands a position as Secretary of the Royal Court. His main job is overseeing construction of a major road connecting Brune and Zhcted—part of the peace deal between the two nations. He becomes Tigre's ally alongside his father, though it's clear he makes up his own mind about it.
