A middle schooler and childhood friend of Hinata's—they're pretty close. His dad's a milkman. Yūsuke's the ace pitcher on his school's baseball team and seriously wants to go pro. He really admires Rei, especially after Rei made it as a professional shōgi player while they were still in middle school. To chase his dream of becoming a pro baseball player, he's looking to transfer to a high school in Shikoku so he can compete in the kōshien tournament.
