Sombart served as an Imperial rear admiral under Reinhard von Lohengramm's command. He's best known for a supply mission that went badly wrong—in 799 UC, right before the Battle of Vermilion, Reinhard tasked him with keeping the supply line open between the Empire's mainland and their new military base on Uruvasi. Sombart was confident he could handle it, but Alliance forces hit his supply vessels hard, and the whole operation fell apart. Reinhard wasn't forgiving about the failure, and Sombart faced punishment for it.
