You comes from the prestigious Asakura family of shamans. He has a twin brother, Hao, who's basically a reincarnation of the original HAO—and a powerful one at that. Because of this, You is considered the only person capable of actually stopping him, partly because You himself is supposedly a half-incarnation of that original HAO, giving him similar abilities and potential. He's also engaged to Anna, and at 13 he decided to enter the Shaman Fight mostly to build a better life for both of them.
Personality-wise, You's pretty easygoing. He clicks with almost anyone and makes friends without much effort. Don't let the laid-back vibe fool you though—he can flip a switch and get dead serious when the situation demands it. Interestingly, Hao shares a lot of these same traits, and their personalities overlap quite a bit. The key difference is that You tends to be more grounded. He naturally leans toward the positive side of things and can usually find something good to say about any situation, whereas Hao's philosophy tends to be darker.
