Kumi is Ryo Mashiba's younger sister and probably the one person who truly understands him. She's got a soft heart but serious drive—the kind of person who'll push herself hard to support the people she cares about. Her brother means everything to her, so she shows up to his fights despite hating to watch him take hits. Ippo develops a crush on her pretty early in the series.
