Birthdate: December 25, 1755
Oscar was raised by her father, General François Augustin Regnier de Jarjayes, as the son he never had—trained from childhood to eventually command the Royal Guards in his place. When her military education wrapped up at fourteen, she was immediately assigned to protect Marie Antoinette upon the Dauphine's arrival at court.
The unusual thing about Oscar is that she never hid being a woman, even while dressing and working as a man. She was pretty open about it, actually. What made the arrangement work was that her male position gave her access and freedom no lady of the court could ever have—something she took full advantage of.
Romance and attraction seemed to follow her everywhere. André Grandier, who started as her family's servant and later joined her regiment, was clearly in love with her. Marie Antoinette, whom she protected, developed feelings for her too. Rosalie Lamorlière adored her, earning the nickname "spring breeze" from Oscar in return. Even after telling women she was female, plenty of them didn't seem to care—they were drawn to her anyway.
Oscar wasn't thrilled with court politics and the endless scheming, but she stuck around out of loyalty to her father and genuine friendship with Marie Antoinette. That loyalty was tested when she fell for Fersen, a man already caught in a forbidden relationship with the queen herself—an uncomfortable position all around.
