Ayato Kirishima is Touka's younger brother and goes by Black Rabbit. He grew up with her in the 20th ward before eventually leaving to wander the other wards—apparently causing serious damage wherever he went, until Tatara noticed his potential. That's when he got pulled into Aogiri Tree, where he's now an Executive.
At his core, Ayato's an arrogant, hot-headed kid with the same brash energy as his sister. He usually looks either pissed off or like he's smirking at something cruel. Like Touka, he's got a foul mouth and isn't shy about it. He's also got this habit of kicking people for minor screw-ups—whether it's Kaneki not using the right honorific or Banjou missing his calls. He's genuinely harsher than Touka overall, though he'll admit his Aogiri bosses are worse.
Ayato lives by survival of the fittest, a philosophy hardened by losing both his parents young. He harbors serious resentment toward his father, Arata, for abandoning him and Touka. Fans often note the irony that part of his hatred for Kaneki comes from how much he resembles Arata. Despite his rough exterior, it's pretty clear he cares deeply about Touka—Kaneki pointed out that Ayato beat her down first during Yamori's torture to spare her a slower death. Later, he even took on her "Rabbit" alias to draw CCG attention away from her. He also seems to have a genuine soft spot for rabbits.
