Jun runs the underground cardfighting scene like he owns it—and in a lot of ways, he does. He's genuinely skilled at the game itself, which sets him apart from the thugs working under him who have no problem bending the rules.
When Miwa shows up asking Jun to back off from Kai, Jun sees an opportunity. He uses Miwa as leverage to finally get Kai into a serious match, tying him to a cardfighting table and forcing him to watch the duel up close with a glove on. It's a power move, pure and simple. But here's the thing: Jun actually plays it straight. While his crew cheats without hesitation, Jun doesn't need to. He's confident enough in his own abilities.
That confidence turns out to be misplaced. Despite everything—the setup, the control, his genuine skill—Kai beats him.
