Shinobu is Kazuhito's favorite novelist and, depending on who you ask, either a brilliant dark comedic writer or just genuinely sadistic. She's a bestselling author living alone in a cramped studio apartment, and she's basically the opposite of warm and fuzzy—she's terrible with both people and animals, always dressed head-to-toe in black, and has zero patience for anyone's nonsense, including her own.
She carries around a pair of scissors she calls "HasaJiro," ostensibly for self-defense. In reality, she uses them to make her points very clear, especially to Kazuhito when he says something she disapproves of or when she's just in the mood to punish him. It's become kind of her signature move.
The weirdest part about her? She can somehow read Kazuhito's mind, which he finds absolutely maddening since it means he can't keep anything from her—not his thoughts, not his secrets, definitely not his sexual fantasies. She seems to enjoy this power way too much.
She's got a surprisingly competitive streak and loves contact sports, which honestly tracks with her whole personality. There's also this running thing where she's clearly insecure about her small bust size, though she'd probably stab you with HasaJiro if you brought it up.
Despite her aggressive, knife-wielding exterior, there are hints that she actually likes Kazuhito—not that she'd ever admit it directly.
