Kazuhito is basically a book nerd who'd rather be reading than doing anything else. One night at a café, a robbery goes down, and despite not being the brave type, he tries to stop the robber anyway—and gets killed for his trouble. He wakes up as a dog, now living with Kirihime, one of the café customers who happened to witness everything. Weirdly, Kirihime can hear his thoughts, which should be great except she's got a sadistic streak and an unsettling obsession with scissors.
